The projects are engaging, solution-oriented and active. The work and research needed to complete these projects allows students to develop hands-on experience. Students practice curriculum basics in a real-life application by engaging in a community-based action plan. Our definition provides for students of all ages and requires a need for an open ended set of resources to support them. By community, we are including schools, formal and informal institutions, neighborhoods, and/or smaller areas of a particular town or city.
